What are the Hokies' chances of actually making it to Pasadena this year for the National Championship? As it stands, they're not as far-fetched as they were a few weeks ago. Obviously starting the season off with a loss against Alabama wasn't what we were looking for, but the upside is that it's clearly the best loss across the board of all the one-loss teams. Alabama has a case right now that they are the best team in all of college football. Fortunately for Florida, their #1 spot won't be called into question until the SEC Championship Game, where they will most likely face Alabama. In a league where undefeated seasons are a rarity, even among the elite, having their lone loss be to arguably the best team in the country means Tech could certainly end up with a 1-loss season, an ACC championship and a trip to Pasadena. If that's the case, I'll see you at the game.
On another note, how about Tyrod Taylor going 17 of 22 for 327 yards and 2 touchdowns?! In case you were wondering, the last time a Virginia Tech Quarterback threw for over 300 yards was September 30th, 2006. Sean Glennon went 27 of 53 for 339 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort to Georgia Tech. Definitely not as impressive. That's like buying a nice, 5 bedroom house with plenty of windows and covering them all with temporary shades. It's a great effort, but you fall just short of getting it right. And there's the window shades reference!
That's it for me right now. Let's go Hokies! Buy window treatments!
Oh, as a side note, the Redskins barely won yesterday. Check back when they aren't too terrible to waste words on.
